Rex Hunt Fishing Adventures Vol 1 Yibbida Yibbida Folks, Rex is back to celebrate some of the most magnificent catches
he's landed in his time. Travel with him all over Australia in search of The Big One.
Rex goes deep sea fishing in St Helens, Tasmania, and lands striped trumpeter as well
as a whopping 160lb mako shark, a powerful warm blooded hunting machine. Rex tries
his hand at rock fishing on Dirk Hartog Island to catch, kiss and release longtom,
turrum and bald chin groper. Watch Rex struggle with a 25lb yellowtail kingfish as
well as trolling for giant trevally on Croker Island, Northern Territory. We then move
to Tumby Bay, South Australia, for some healthy snapper and end with the most remarkable
catch of all time a 10 foot hammerhead shark right on the beach at Cape Don,
Northern Territory.

Rex Hunt Fishing Adventures Vol 2 Rex is in search of some of the finest fishing locations on the globe with promise of
big fish and clean, clear water. We start on the South Island of New Zealand in the
Mt. Cook region, a mecca for modern day trout fishers. On the banks of the wide range
of rivers and lakes we learn the art of fly fishing for beautiful brown and rainbow trout.
From New Zealand, Rex takes us to England and the Itchen River, home to the most
celebrated chalk streams in Southern England. We travel to the independent nation known
as the Solomons, the third largest archipelago in the Southern Pacific region and also
one of the most unspoilt. The Solomons is made up of at least 992 individual islands and
it is in this paradise that Rex lands archer fish, trevally and mangrove jack, the biggest
fighters around. We also see Rex trolling for coral trout and small Spanish mackerel.
This beautifully shot masterpiece ends in Thailand and the tourism mecca of Phuket
where Rex absorbs the local culture whilst going in search of northern blue fin tuna,
wahoo and dolphin fish.

Rex Hunt Fishing Adventures Vol 3 In this programme Rex concentrates his attention on the top end of Australia. We
explore the wonderful peninsula around Cape York situated on the North East tip of
Queensland and one of the wildest and most remote tropical wilderness areas in
Australia. It is in this clear sea water that we find mackerel, golden trevally and
queenies, whilst Rex tries not to get stung by the infamous box jellyfish. Rex also
shows off his culinary skills by preparing his famous flake. We visit Croker Isalnd
in the Northern Territory where Rex manages a double hook up of enormous trevally.
In the magnificent wetlands of Kakadu in the Northern Territory, Australias largest
national park, Rex lands a river whaler shark and a 20lb barramundi. Rex revisits
Cape Don in the Northern Territory, as well as Broome in Western Australia where a
shark devours Rexs blue salmon right in front of his eyes. Fly fishing at Yardoogarra
Creek in Western Australia ends the trip to Australias Top End.

abundant with brown trout. This is fishing heaven for Rex as Ron Wilton, the resident
riverkeeper, tells Rex all about the responsibilities of his job whilst showing him the
ideal fly fishing spots in these tranquil surroundings. Rexs sidekick, Steve Starling,
takes a trip to Billingsgate Market in Canary Wharf with the head chef of Selfridges.
Their mission: to select a fish and prepare a piscatorial breakfast for our hungry crew.
Next, we visit Norwich and catch up with John Wilson at his privately owned lake, abundant
with carp. Rex and his team then move on to Cambridge with its internationally renowned
university and surrounding canals, rich with pike and perch. We also make a trip to Andover
and wet a line in a peaceful trout fishery. We end by investigating the vast array of tackle
available at Sheltons of Peterborough, including a bait boat that drops your ground bait
for you via remote control.

only incredible diverse fish on offer but also gain an insight into the various fishing
methods that the Japanese have made their own. See the local fishing markets in Osaka as
they auction off their internationally renowned fresh tuna. Visit the magically tranquil
Osaka Castle and see the only whale shark in captivity at the Osaka Aquarium. Immerse
yourself in the Nagara River, where the locals gather to catch ayu, and experience night
time cormorant fishing where handlers get their birds to regurgitate their fish to land
their catch. We also explore one of the South Pacifics best kept secrets, the Republic
of Vanuatu with its 83 individual islands, friendly people, active volcanoes and crystal
clear water. It is in this paradise that Rex lands giant and blue trevally as well as luna
trout. He also releases a 12 month turtle back into the ocean and we see Rexs sidekick,
Steve Starling, swim with a playful sea cow.

of Australia. We travel via helicopter to stunning fishing spots on the Chamberlain River,
where a hilariously enthusiastic host helps Rex land healthy barramundi. Whilst out to sea,
Rex gets his giant trevally eaten by a black tipped reef shark. We examine Long Island Reef,
abundant with sea cucumbers, starfish and giant clams and then go in search of ancient
Aboriginal rock art. In the second part of this feature, we focus our attention specifically
on Broome in the far tropical north of Western Australia. Giant trevally, mackerel and
crocodiles all feature but the highlight has to be Rexs first ever black kingfish, a monstrous
38lb specimen. We also take part in the inaugral Fly Rod Championships for sailfish, famous
for their fast strikes, long runs and spectacular acrobatics.

Rex finds abundant rainbow trout in the gorgeous scenery of the Tongariro River and enjoys a freshly prepared trout cooked in the sand at Hot Water Beach. We catch yellowtail kingfish and take part in the measure and tagging programme, as well as learning about the art of jigging for trout. We finish by swimming with dolphins in the Bay of Plenty. Changing location to Australia, we then visit the coastal fishing town of Albany, 400 kms south east of Perth. Albany was a thriving whaling town and we see archive footage of the industry that was closed down in 1978. The old whaling station is now the sight of Whale World, the largest whale museum in the world. Out in the big swells of Frenchmans Bay, we join local fishermen as they catch pilchards which are packed into boxes right on their boat. Rex and his team then set about catching southern blue fin and striped tuna and make an outing further east to Esperence, home to the red snapper and where a massive cuttlefish devours Rexs sergeant baker.
