[align=justify:bcbb61f38c]Pokémon, Satoshi Tajiri'nin 1995 yılında yarattığı ilk oyun daha sonra çizgifilm ve de son olarak film çıkarmıştır, kart oyunu, manga gibi dallara uzanan bir animedir.



Pokémon'un hikayesi çok değişiktir. Çıkış noktası, Pokémon'un yaratıcısı olan Satoshi Tajiri'nin küçüklükten gelme böcek toplama hobisinden doğduğu söylenebilir. Hikayesini de değişik kılan olgu da "Hepsini Yakala" mottosudur. Yaratıcı ve eğlenmeye yönelik olan konsol firması Nintendo'nun aklına bir fikir gelir ve bu fikri oyun olarak uygular. Nintendo'nun projesi bir oyundur ve Nintendo'nun Gameboy konsolunda oynanılır. Oyun o kadar çok tutar ki Final Fantasy i bile geçer. Bu kadar çok tutmuşken Tv Tokyo ile anlaşılır ve animesi yapılır. Animesi için kurulmuş grup bile vardır. Şarkıları bu grup söyler grubun adı Pokérap'dir. Buna ek olarak çizgi film Çin'deyken bazı ses efektlerini ise Pokémonun orkestrası yapar.Türkiye'de ise tartışmalara neden olan olay bir çocuğun ben Pikachu'yum diye camdan atlaması. Fakat Ash'in ilk Pokémon'u olan Pikachu'nun uçma özelliği yoktur.Pokemonun İngilizce dublajında Ash ve Ash'in annesini seslendiren kişi aynıdır.Seslendiren kişinin adı Veronica Taylor'dur.[/align:bcbb61f38c]
